Set in the late 1950's, RED gives us a glimpse of the great American painter Mark Rothko - as seen through the eyes of his young assistant, Ken - as they create murals for a flashy new restaurant in New York City. The audience becomes a fly on the wall in the painter's studio as Ken grows to challenge Rothko's ideas about art.

"I am changed by having seen the QC Theatre Workshop's RED
. And with that in mind, I can say that Danner's production is
the most poignant, the most thought-provoking, and likely the most enduring theatre piece I've seen not only this year, but over the past few years."
- Thom White, River Cities' Reader

"Like a great painting, the powerful play RED hits you in the heart and in the head -
it touches your emotions and makes you think."
- Jonathan Turner, The Dispatch-Argus

"The QC Theatre Workshop swiftly became a solid part of the area's dramatic landscape with its opening of John Logan's RED."
- David Burke, Quad-City Times
